What You're Signing Up For

The UCOL STAR Introduction to Bakery course is a Level 2 programme designed for secondary school learners (years 11 to 13) interested in baking and chef training. It provides an overview and introduction to baking goods in a commercial environment over one week. The course is fees-free to learners and is delivered at UCOL Manawatū in Palmerston North and UCOL Wairarapa in Masterton. Successful completion offers 4 credits at Level 2 under Unit Standard 23083, focusing on the preparation and baking of basic breads. The course prepares learners for further study in hospitality-related tertiary qualifications, such as the New Zealand Certificate in Cookery.
