What You're Signing Up For

The UCOL STAR Café Service Skills short course offers secondary school students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in preparing and presenting basic sandwiches for service. Over two Fridays, learners will develop foundational food preparation skills in a café context, providing a stepping stone for further study or a career in hospitality, chef training, or bakery. The course is delivered fees-free for learners, with schools covering costs, and awards 2 NCEA credits (NZQA Level 2).

What you need to know first

Year 11 - 13 secondary school learners

NZ Citizens, permanent residents or learners with an applicable visa allowing secondary school enrolment
