What You're Signing Up For

The New Zealand Certificate in Travel (Level 4) is designed to prepare students for junior consultancy roles in the travel and tourism sector. The programme covers areas such as customer service, travel industry systems, workplace practices, travel regions and geography, enabling graduates to deliver professional product advice and sales support within travel-related businesses.

Course Content

  • Customer Service: Oral presentation, ground terminology and products, relationship building, selling tools, travel products
  • Workplace Practices: Relevant legislation for the travel industry, teamwork and collaboration
  • Travel Regions and Geography: Reservations for cruises and tours outside NZ, UK and Eire as tourist destinations, European tourist destinations
  • Travel Industry Operational Systems: International air travel regulations, airline terminology, computer reservation systems, financial operations, world travel geography

What you need to know first

School leavers: 10 credits at Level 1 NCEA in both literacy and numeracy

Three years minimum secondary education

Desire to work in the travel or tourism industries

Mature applicants: Evidence of ability to succeed (prior study or related work experience), subject to selection

English language requirements for non-native speakers
