This course introduces the structure and function of vertebrate animals, with an emphasis on mammals, exploring scientific principles of homeostasis, reproduction, lactation, nutrition, and growth. It includes analysis of disease causation in livestock, disease control measures, veterinary medicine residues, animal welfare, and biosecurity as they apply to agricultural practice in Aotearoa New Zealand.
