What You're Signing Up For

You’ll grow your knowledge of advanced soil science, delving into biogeochemistry and climate change science, as well as pedology (soil information systems) and then apply that science to sustainable land use issues. This course covers key pedogenic processes, soil biology interactions with ecosystems, soil data analysis and field sampling, C and N biogeochemistry relevant to primary production and climate change, and scientific report writing.

Course Content

  • Pedogenic processes and soil biology interactions
  • Soil data interpretation, analysis, and synthesis
  • Designing field soil sampling campaigns for intermediate intensity surveys
  • Soil biogeochemistry of Carbon and Nitrogen
  • Application of soil science to sustainable land use and climate change
  • Scientific report writing ethics and practice
