What You're Signing Up For
This course introduces students to the foundational concepts and methods in environmental economics. Students will learn about the interactions between economies, societies, and ecosystems at both local and global levels, differing economic schools of thought as they pertain to the environment, and key principles used to analyze and solve environmental problems. The course includes a focus on economic analysis in environmental decision-making specific to Aotearoa New Zealand and includes Māori perspectives on the relationship between economy and environment.
