What You're Signing Up For

The UCOL STAR Hairdressing course is a level 2 programme aimed at secondary school students (years 11 to 13) interested in hair and fashion. It offers practical training in shampooing, styling hair with professional products, and understanding hair care and fashion trends. The course runs over five weeks with one day per week attendance at UCOL campuses in Palmerston North, Whanganui, and Masterton. It provides 3 NCEA credits and is designed to provide a taste of the hairdressing industry to support career pathway decisions. It is a fees-free course for learners with enrolment through participating secondary schools.
